This post is brought to you by the phrase 'practise what you preach'!
I will be the first to admit that I am TERRIBLE at eating lunch, despite all my knowledge about what's necessary to fuel the body! As a small business owner, I'm often running around doing lots of different things, so there is not a lot regular routine to my day and I am often fuelled by coffee alone between breakfast and dinner-time. I think this is a hangover from my restaurant days when 11-3pm was the lunch rush for everyone else, and the best the chefs got was a hurried handful of chips next to the deep-fryer! So this is my challenge to myself: I am going to SIT DOWN (revolutionary!) and eat lunch every day for the next month. You can follow me over on Twitter, #TFWlunchchallenge. Feel free to post your lunch pics as well!
Making an effort to prioritise my own nutrition is one way that I can make sure that I am better able to respond to the demands of business and family, and I think that's a message we can all take on board.
One of the things I looked at when designing the menu format for TFW was having a range of meals that are lighter and that can be eaten for breakfast or lunch. That's why you'll always find an egg dish, a soup and a vegetarian dish that could be considered lunchable on each weekly menu. I'm going to order myself a few of these, for when I don't have time to make a salad roll! Hope you find the idea of lunch challenge inspiring - maybe you could join me for a week? Have a great, healthy week, everyone! Caron
